SEAS Playgroup

The SEAS playgroup is a group for both parents and their children! It is a supportive group where parenting ideas can be shared, the Catholic faith can be discussed, and friends can be made. Each week we have a special prayer for the children to pray, followed by a short Bible story. There are many toys for the children to play with, plus crayons and snacks are available.
The group meets every Thursday afternoon from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in room 110 in the Religious Education Building of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. The group is open to any parent with children under the age of 6. Parents must remain with their children at all times.
Susan Lorge, a parishioner at our church, started the playgroup in July of 2006. She is married with 4 children. She started the group so that the children of the parish would have a place within the church where they belonged. She wanted the children to feel comfortable coming to church and to understand that there is more to church than just sitting quietly through mass. She also started the group with the parents in mind. It is not always easy raising a family and we all need someone to talk to sometimes. With the playgroup, the parents also have a support network and someone to talk to. The group provides an opportunity for parents to share problems and ideas while at the same time having an opportunity to enrich their faith. Recently this group celebrated it's first birthday! Hooray!
