OPERATION
CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation
Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around
the world through gift- filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.
This program of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of
all ages to be involved in a simple, hands- on missions project while focusing
on the true meaning of Christmas -- Jesus Christ
Our
Parish will be collecting all boxes Nov. 9th-11th during
Religious Education (CCD) so we have time to check them and get them to the drop
off location in time for Christmas Delivery.
Here are 3 ways you can participate
1. Do a shoebox with your
family
Use an empty
shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic container. You can wrap
the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required.
Determine
whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child's age category:
2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Get the appropriate boy/girl label from the youth office
(available on the door). Mark the correct age category on the label, and
tape the label to the top of your box.
Fill the box
with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child.

Make your check out to Samaritan's Purse (note "OCC" for
Operation Christmas Child on memo line) and place it in an envelope, inside
your box, on top of the gifts. If you or your family is preparing more than
one shoe box and are able, please make one combined donation.
You can donate on line at www.samaritanspurse.org
once there click EZ Give.
*The suggested donation increased to this amount in 2006 due to higher shipping costs and expanded evangelistic outreach. This is the first increase since the project began 14 years ago.
