Goals of Youth Ministry

1. To foster, promote, and assist in the formulation of a faith relationship between youth and God.

2. To continue active Youth Gatherings on a regular basis, currently this is being done through a blended experience where youth ministry is incorporated into religious education for grades 3-8.  Meetings are monthly.

3. To advocate and assist young people in building an active relationship in their parish, by helping them find a niche that feels right for them at this time in their lives.

4. To provide a safe haven for young people.

5. Host, sponsor, and provide: workshops, gatherings, informational meetings, conferences, etc. on topics relevant to teens today for youth as well as their families (parent, caregiver) such as on:  chastity, drug and alcohol prevention, anger management, etc.

6. To be available for those youth and their parents when they are in need: for problems, for counseling, for sick calls, for guidance, as an ear, etc.

7. To work in conjunction with and in support of diocesan events so as to allow youth from various parishes to get to know each other, to support each other (concept of world church) and to worship, socialize, celebrate, and work together; as able.
